Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – READ Ottawa is inviting the community to its 8th Annual Scrabble Tournament fundraiser, set for Thursday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 925. The event will bring together teams of word enthusiasts for an evening of friendly competition, along with dinner, drinks, and prizes—all supporting adult literacy programs in Ottawa County.
Hear all about it from Executive Director Vicki Ellis:
Teams of two to four players can register for $120, which includes dinner and participation in two rounds of Scrabble. The evening will also feature a silent auction and additional opportunities to support the organization’s mission.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly benefit READ Ottawa’s free one-on-one tutoring programs, helping adults improve reading, writing, and language skills to create better opportunities for themselves and their families.
READ Ottawa is the only nonprofit in Ottawa County dedicated to providing free adult literacy tutoring and relies on community support to sustain and expand its programs.
Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to get involved by registering a team, sponsoring the event, or donating auction items.
