Ottawa County, MI (WGHN) – The Ottawa County Road Commission has lifted seasonal weight restrictions as of this morning, Monday, March 30, at 6 a.m.
Seasonal weight restrictions are implemented each year to protect roadways during the spring thaw, when frost leaves the ground and roadbeds become saturated and more susceptible to damage. The decision to lift restrictions is based on ongoing monitoring of the presence of frost, road conditions, and weather forecasts.
These indicators show that non-all-season roads can once again support commercial traffic with heavier loads.
