(Los Angeles, CA) – Hollywood studios are in a bidding war to produce Tom Hanks’ new baseball movie. “The Comebacker” stars Hanks as the coach of a Major League pitcher whose life changes when he’s hit in the head by a line drive. The film is being directed by Marielle Heller, who directed Hanks in the Mister Rogers movie “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.” “Variety” says Bad Bunny and Oscar nominee Colman Domingo might be joining the cast.
The report says three studios are competing for the project, with Sony Pictures in the lead.
