By Mary Ellen Murphy Mar 26, 2026 | 7:28 AM

(Lansing, MI) – The state Senate Civil Rights, Judiciary and Public Safety Committee has approved two bills along party lines that will limit the abilities in Michigan of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The bills would require body-worn cameras be worn by ICE agents, and they would not be allowed to cover their faces with masks unless to prevent themselves from harm.

The committee also passed a resolution urging Congress to pass bills requiring immigration agents to display visible identification and limit immigration enforcement activities in sensitive locations.
