Fertilizer More Expensive Thanks To War With Iran

(Monroe, MI)  –  Gas prices are obviously much higher in the past several weeks since the U.S. and Israel started a war with Iran, but fertilizer is also costing more.  Farmers have been hit with the higher prices if they didn’t lock in prices.
Ron Stadler owns Stadler Farms in Monroe and locked in his fertilizer last year before the war with Iran started and says that has saved him money.
Fertilizer prices have jumped from 240-dollars a ton in 2025 to over 480-dollars a ton now.  Farmers warn they will need higher prices for their crops to cover the expense if the war continues.
