(Cleveland, OH) – A doctor is highlighting the health benefits of taking a walk after you eat. Gastroenterologist Jessica Philpott with the Cleveland Clinic says walking right after a meal can shorten the amount of time that food sits in the stomach. She also says it can improve symptoms of reflux, abdominal pain and other issues.
Going for a walk after a meal can also help with gastrointestinal issues and glucose control. Philpott says it can be helpful to walk 15 to 30 minutes after eating.
