Celebrating 70 Years

WGHN Radio

We’re celebrating the 70th Anniversary of WGHN.  The station was founded July 16, 1956 by Robert Runyon and Robert Kirby, former employees of WOOD radio and television in Grand Rapids.  Over the years the station moved several times from its original studios on Washington Avenue (above Grand Haven Jewelry) to Franklin Avenue to South Seventh Street.  WGHN has been broadcasting from its current location on South Harbor Drive in downtown Grand Haven since 1983.   The WGHN Broadcast Family “Thanks You” for 70 years of connection and support.

Since 1956, WGHN has been proud to serve as “Something Special”, helping community businesses grow, supporting local causes and providing news, information, music and so much more to the Tri-Cities and Northwest Ottawa County.  In celebrating our history, we brought back  a 1980’s WGHN graphic from when the station was called The Rhythm of the Lakeshore.
