(San Diego, CA) – A blood test could predict a woman’s chances of dementia as early as 25 years before symptoms appear. Scientists with the University of California San Diego found that higher levels of one particular protein, one linked to Alzheimer’s disease, were linked with future cognitive impairment and dementia compared to those who had no issues at the start of the study.

The study was published in JAMA Network Open.
