(Detroit, MI) – The Detroit Tigers and veteran pitcher Justin Verlander have agreed on a one-year, 13-million-dollar contract. The 42-year-old Tigers icon last played for Detroit in August 2017 before being traded to the Houston Astros, where he won the World Series in 2017 and 2022.
Verlander also played for the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants before rejoining Detroit. He has pitched three no-hitters, two of those with the Tigers in 2007 and 2011.
