(Fruitport Township, MI) – Muskegon County Prosecutor DJ Hilson is considering charges against the juvenile who shot and killed a 14-year-old in Fruitport Township along with the gun’s owner. Rylen Yager was killed Saturday evening in the shooting on Romedius Street around 7:20 p.m. Michigan State Police say minors had gained access to the gun and the prosecutor’s office is studying to see if any safe storage laws were broken by the gun’s owner.
Decisions on the charges are expected next week.
