Winter Weather Advisory and Storm Watch Issued for Ottawa County

Grand Rapids, MI (WGHN) – The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids had issued a Winter Weather Advisory  for Ottawa County till 7:00 a.m. Sunday. Between 4-6 inches of snow is possible with wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour.

Then a Winter Storm Watch will be in effect Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. Monday for Ottawa County.

1-4 inches of snow is possible with blowing and drifting. Wind gusts will be up to 40 mph.

Winter storm warnings are being posted from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic as a cold front is expected to dump heavy snow across eleven states. The National Weather Service says the strong cold front will create favorable conditions for lake effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes today. Up to six inches of snow and winds gusting up to 40 miles per hour are predicted from Minnesota to Maryland, and as far south as Tennessee.
