Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) –  The Grand Haven Area Community Foundation has appointed Amirah Vosburgh as its executive vice president and chief operating officer,.

Vosburgh assumed the role Jan. 5. She becomes the first EVP and COO added to the foundation’s leadership team, which also includes Vice President of Finance Patty MacDonald, Vice President of Grants and Program Amy Moore, and Vice President of Advancement and Donor Services Chris Riker.

Vosburgh spent much of her career at Grand Valley State University, where she held leadership roles within the Charter Schools Office and helped launch and scale multiple departments. “I’m honored to join the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation at such an important moment for the organization and the community,” Vosburgh said. “Community foundations play a powerful role in connecting people who care deeply about their community with the resources and partnerships needed to create lasting impact.”

Foundation President and CEO Hadley Streng said Vosburgh’s experience will support the organization’s continued growth.

“Amirah’s leadership and expertise will be instrumental as we continue to enhance organizational efficiencies, expand our reach and deepen our impact,” Streng said.

The appointment follows a period of steady growth for the foundation, which has added eight positions over the past five years, including two part-time roles. The EVP and COO position was created to oversee internal operations, including marketing, human resources, administration, facilities and operational efficiencies.

Board Chair Mary Carole Cotter said the board intentionally planned for the new role as part of the foundation’s long-term strategy.

“Amirah’s proven track record and passion for community will help shape the foundation’s next chapter of growth and success,” Cotter said.
