GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, MI – A 32-year-old man suspected in an armed home invasion and domestic assault in Georgetown Township has been taken into custody.
Authorities arrested the man Friday in Grand Rapids, one day after he allegedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and assaulted her while armed with a gun. Three children were inside the apartment at the time.
A multi-agency task force — including the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Grand Rapids Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force — located and arrested the suspect.
Deputies say one of the children called 911 during the incident Thursday. The suspect fled the apartment complex before law enforcement arrived.
The woman sustained minor injuries, and the children were unharmed.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has not released the suspect’s name, as formal charges have not yet been filed.
