(Moorland Township, MI) – Consumers Energy’s largest solar facility is now open near Muskegon and will provide energy to power around 40-thousand homes and businesses. The solar farm is 19-hundred acres and has over 550-thousand solar panels in 52-hundred rows. Spokesman Brian Wheeler says the panels will track the sun and turn over the course of the day for more sunlight.
Consumers Energy received a one-and-a-quarter-million-dollar grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy for the project.
