(Grand Rapids, MI) – All of the ramps from Interstate 196 to US-131 in downtown Grand Rapids are back open. The Michigan Department of Transportation says the ramps from westbound I-196 to southbound US-131 and from northbound US-131 to eastbound I-196 opened up Saturday. The ramp from westbound I-196 to southbound US-131 had been closed since a semi truck crashed into it and caused significant damage on December 3rd.
MDOT says a full repair will be in place by April and say the ramps were reopened with a temporary fix.
