(Lansing, MI) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has joined a lawsuit with 19 other state attorneys general challenging the Trump administration’s 100-thousand-dollar fee on new H-1B visa petitions. She says they feel it would create a costly barrier for employers who are trying to fill specialized positions.
The lawsuit argues the policy, which is in place, is a clear violation of the law because it imposes a massive fee outside of what was authorized, bypasses required rulemaking procedures, and exceeds the executive branch’s authority.
