(Grand Rapids, MI) – The ramp from westbound Interstate 196 to southbound US-131 in downtown Grand Rapids will be closed for several months following a crash. On Tuesday morning, a semi-truck was hauling 140-thousand-pounds of pea gravel and sand when the driver lost control, causing the truck to get partially wedged under the ramp structure.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has just announced that the ramp will be closed through April 30th, 2026 for repairs.
