(Washington, DC) – Several environmental groups have filed a federal lawsuit as they seek to prevent the restarting of the Palisades nuclear power plant on the Lake Michigan shore. The Complaint for Declaratory and Injunctive Relief was filed in federal court yesterday in Grand Rapids, and the groups believe the case will be heard by a federal judge in Kalamazoo. It was filed by Beyond Nuclear, Don’t Waste Michigan, and Michigan Safe Energy Future.
Holtec International announced the plan to restart Palisades shortly after buying the plant to decommission it.
