(Zeeland, MI) – Zeeland businesses will be able to sell alcohol on Sunday. The city council last night voted six to one to overturn the ban that was several decades old, and City Manager Tim Klunder says they had been considering the action for a few months. The Gritzmaker, a restaurant in downtown Zeeland, told officials Sunday alcohol sales at their other locations make up 20 percent of their revenue and they wanted to offer the drinks there as well.
The city’s social district policy was also updated and will be expanded to designated parks where people can drink alcohol in the summer.
