(South Haven, MI) – The South Haven City Council has unanimously approved the first phase of a lifeguard implementation plan to have lifeguards on South Beach in 2026 and 2027. When it is fiscally sustainable, it will expand on to North Beach with a doubling of the staff. Four lifeguards will be on duty Monday through Thursday, and six will be on duty Friday through Sunday.
It will be the first time in several decades that the city will staff South Beach with lifeguards.
