Unemployment Rate Drops In August

(Lansing, MI) – The state’s unemployment rate for August fell a tenth-of-a-percent to five-point-two-percent. The Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget says jobs declined by seven-thousand and the number of unemployed people dropped by six-thousand. The national jobless rate increase one-tenth of a percent for August to four-point-three-percent. Michigan is higher than the national average by nine-tenths-of-a-percent.
