Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) –  Harbor Transit in partnership with the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival  is once again providing a park-and-ride service for those attending Coast
Guard Festival activities in downtown Grand Haven.

With thousands of visitors expected to attend the 2025 Coast Guard Festival (July 25-August 3), Harbor Transit’s Coast Guard Festival park-and-ride is essential to alleviating traffic congestion
on main roadways during one of the busiest weeks in the Grand Haven area. Harbor Transit’s park-and-ride service is available for free from Friday, July 25, 2025 through Friday, August 1, 2025. Riders should park at Harbor Island to catch the shuttle bus to the drop-off point in downtown Grand Haven at 3rd Street and Columbus Avenue. The full park-and-ride shuttle schedule is available online at www.harbortransit.org/coastguardfestival.

Harbor Transit will also offer a park-and-ride service on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 9:00am until 11:30pm from seven different locations. Riders will need to purchase a day pass for $2 (or
$1 for qualifying riders) to use the shuttle on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Riders may pay in cash upon boarding, exact change only, or they may purchase passes online at www.harbortransit.org.

Riders should note that on Saturday August 2nd, the shuttles will pause service from 8:30pm until after the fireworks show, and the last call to ride the shuttle from downtown Grand Haven
back to the parking locations is 11:30pm.

Safety is Executive Director Scott Borg’s priority for the Coast Guard Festival park-and-ride service. “This is the biggest week of the year for Harbor Transit. We’ve got all hands on deck, and transporting people safely and efficiently is our main focus. Our drivers, dispatchers and staff do an excellent job running the service smoothly. If you’re wanting to attend the Coast Guard Festival events via the shuttles, rest assured you are in good hands.”

In addition to the park-and-ride service, Harbor Transit will operate its on-demand service with normal service hours during the Coast Guard Festival.
