(Laketown Township, MI) – A firefighter and three others are recovering after a rescue on Lake Michigan. The incident happened on Sunday evening near the Holland Channel, which connects Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan, when two people fell off of a watercraft and clung onto a nearby kayak. The kayaker then got separated from his kayak, leaving all three stranded. All three were eventually rescued and a Park Township firefighter was injured during the rescue.
The three who were rescued were evaluated at the scene and released and the firefighter has since been released from the hospital.
