State House Passes “Taylor Swift Bills”

(Lansing, MI) – The Michigan House has approved two bills that have been called the “Taylor Swift bills” to stop bots from buying concert tickets. The bills are the result of computer systems purchasing tickets for Swift’s Eras Tour show at Ford Field and selling them for higher prices on resale sites, with Ticketmaster blaming the bots and high demand for the issue. Civil fines of up to five-thousand-dollars per ticket could be assessed against people who use the automated bots to exceed ticket purchase limits.

The bills are now before the state Senate.
