(Byron Township, MI) – West Michigan-based grocery retailer SpartanNash is merging with C&S Wholesale Grocers by the end of this year. SpartanNash is being purchased in a one-point-seven-seven-billion-dollar deal. C&S officials say the merger will lead to better efficiency and scale, and are hoping that will lower grocery prices.
SpartanNash was the result of the 2013 merger of Spartan Stores and the Nash Finch Company.
