(Webber Township, MI) – The North Lake Correction Facility in Webber Township is now operating as an ICE detention center. The prison had been closed for nearly three years before its owner, Florida-based GEO Group, reached a contract agreement with ICE earlier this year. The facility reopened on Monday and has 18-hundred beds.
About 500 new jobs have been created with the facility’s reopening, making the facility the latest employer in the county.
