(Washington, DC) – President Trump’s global tariffs may mean fewer toys under the Christmas tree this year. The CEO of the Toy Association told the New York Times earlier this week that, because of tariffs, the industry is facing “a frozen supply chain that is putting Christmas at risk.” On Wednesday, Trump appeared to acknowledge that there might be a toy shortage this year. He told reporters after a cabinet meeting, “maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls, and maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more.”
Trump has argued that higher tariffs will force manufacturers to produce more goods in the U.S.
