(Washington, DC) – U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick says President Donald Trump has brokered a deal to soften automotive industry tariffs. In a statement from the White House, he calls the deal “a major victory for the president’s trade policy by rewarding companies who manufacture domestically.”
He also says it provides a “runway to manufacturers who have expressed their commitment to invest in America and expand their domestic manufacturing.” No details have been disclosed.
