Arbor Day in the City of Grand Haven

Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – In  celebration of Arbor Day today,  the Department of Public Works in the City of Grand Haven will be planting a tree at Central park today at 10:00 a.m.

Arbor Day is a holiday dedicated to the planting and preservation of trees. It’s typically celebrated on the last Friday in April in the United States and is a time to encourage individuals and communities to engage with nature and appreciate the importance of trees.

Grand Haven, Michigan, is a Tree City USA and Tree City of the World, a designation awarded by the Arbor Day Foundation. This recognition highlights the city’s commitment to urban forestry through dedicated staff, policies, inventories, budgets, and annual celebrations. Grand Haven is one of only 48 Tree City USA cities in the United States and one of 200 worldwide.
