Zeeland Twp., MI (WGHN) – A plane was located upside down at the Ottawa Executive Airport in Zeeland Township this morning just before 9:00 a.m.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s say when they arrived to the scene at 5923 Byron Rd, they located a Cessna 180 single engine airplane upside down just off the shoulder of the runway. Both occupants of the plane were able to exit it on their own prior to arrival.
Initial investigation showed that the plane had experienced an issue during landing and over turned. Both occupants declined medical treatment. This incident remains under investigation and will be turned over to the FAA.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Zeeland Township Fire Rescue, AMR Ambulance and the FAA.
