(Shelby Township, MI) – Congressman John James is in the running for governor of Michigan. The Republican announced his campaign yesterday on social media and says he will not seek a third term in the U.S. House. James joins state Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt and truck driver Anthony Hudson in the GOP race for the governor’s office.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, and Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson are running on the Democratic side, while Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is running as an independent.
