(St. Ignace, MI) –The Mackinac Bridge has reopened after being closed between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. yesterday due to falling ice. The Mackinac Bridge Authority has had to close the five-mile span several times since Friday. Mackinac Bridge Authority director Kim Nowack says the ice accumulation on the bridge is some of the worst seen since she started at the bridge in 2002.
No vehicles have been damaged by the falling chunks of ice.
