(Fruitport Township, MI) – Classes are canceled at Beach Elementary in Fruitport Community Schools for the next several days due to damage from Sunday’s storm. Superintendent Jason Kennedy says the roof was sheared off the school and rainwater flooded the gym floor.
Some classrooms were also damaged along with the playground. One staff member was inside the elementary at the time of the storm, and Kennedy says that is how they learned of the damage as quickly as they did.
