(Grand Rapids, MI) – Food banks in west Michigan are uneasy with the more than one-billion-dollars that have been cut by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for local food banks and schools. Feeding America West Michigan president and CEO Ken Estelle says they are looking at the possibility of a million dollars worth of food that has been paused. He says that would be over two million meals that they had been planning on getting in the next three or four months and says the cuts have a lot of impact.

Estelle says their current inventory will last about a month.
