(Toronto) – Electricity exports from Ontario, Canada to the U.S. are being hit with a surcharge. Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced a 25-percent increase Monday. This comes as President Trump has launched a trade war with Canada by imposing tariffs. One-point-five-million Americans in Michigan, Minnesota and New York get electricity from Ontario.

Ford said if the U.S. escalates then he will not hesitate to shut the electricity off completely.
