There was much back and forth between the Ottawa Impact Commissioners and the other commissioners as Bultje does represents several municipalities in West Michigan. He has served as legal counsel for the city of Grand Haven and the Board of Light & Power. The board also approved a resolution urging Consumers Energy to delay the closing of the J.H. Campbell Plant in Port Sheldon and approved a resolution on Tuesday urging Consumers Energy to delay the closure.

Vice President of Electric Supply for CMS and Consumers Energy, Sri Maddipatti tells WGHN News it’s closing.

Consumers Energy has said the plan for closure has been vetted and approved from multiple stakeholders and regulatory agencies and, unless critical grid stability concerns are established prior to closure, the plan is likely to remain in place.

The board also voted to pause the Crockery Lake restoration project as one of the county attorneys stating that the agreement with Chester Township is invalid. Fox 17 reports that the law states that county Board of Commissioners can contribute 25% of the cost of a lake improvement project.

Commissioner Allison Meidema:

Board Chair John Teeples says that the board was told that the agreement required the county to give the money, over $500,000, 100% of the estimated cost of lake restoration.

Board Chair John Teeples will be on Good Morning Grand Haven at 8:45 this morning. Listen online here.
