(Grand Rapids, MI) – Over 150 people took part in the 50501 protest in downtown Grand Rapids on Presidents Day to express their anger at actions taken by President Donald Trump. Holding signs like “If you’re not scared, you’re not paying attention” and “Elon stole my SSN,” the grassroots protest grew from the first that was held on February 5th. Helen Kennedy of Greenville says she was there to object to Elon Musk’s “infiltration of our agencies” and his “overtaking of our government,” while Carl Kelly of Grand Rapids says he was there to “resist this takeover of our government from oligarchs.”
Kelly added Trump, not Musk, was elected and Trump “double-crossed us.”
