Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Business owners are picking up the pieces after the Forum, a multi-business building in Grand Haven caught Friday evening just after 9:00 p.m. at Fulton and South 3rd Street. The building is home to several businesses. Here is a link to Grand Haven Main Street’s Facebook page.

Officers from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety responded to a report of smoke coming from the roof of the two-story commercial building located in the 200 block of Fulton. Initially, firefighters took an offensive approach to combat the fire due to the limited visibility of smoke. However, as conditions deteriorated and fire was discovered within the roof structure, a decision was made to shift to a defensive strategy.
Multiple fire departments collaborated to contain the blaze and prevent spreading to nearby residential areas. Responders faced challenges with water supply and adverse weather conditions, which required additional requests for support from nearby agencies. An excavator was utilized to expose part of the building to assist in locating and extinguishing the fire. Fortunately, no one was inside the business at the time of the incident, and there were no injuries reported at the scene. The structure appears to be a total loss, and the fire is still under investigation.
They  extend their gratitude to all responding agencies for their assistance.
Grand Haven Public Safety was supported by the following departments: Grand Haven Township Fire Department, Ferrysburg Fire Department, Spring Lake Township Fire Department, Crockery Township Fire Department, Robinson Township Fire Department, Norton Shores Fire Department, Norton Shores Canteen 494, Allendale Township Fire Department, Port Sheldon Fire Department, Fruitport Township Fire Department, Blendon Township Fire Department, Montague Tanker, and North Ottawa Trinity Hospital. Several other agencies also helped by backfilling staff in other jurisdictions.
