(Undated) — It appears the State Department is already making changes to its website that reflect President Trump’s executive orders against transgender people. A webpage titled “Selecting your gender marker” for people applying for a passport or updating it — looks to have been removed. The page now redirects to a general passport information page. As recently as Tuesday morning, users could select male, female or unspecified or another gender identity as the gender marker on their U.S. passport books and cards. Trump signed an executive order Monday that declared the federal government will recognize only two sexes — male and female.
The order directed secretaries of state and homeland security to implement changes to require that government-issued IDs accurately reflect the holder’s sex.
