(Lansing, MI) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is joining 21 other Democratic attorneys general in suing President Trump over his executive order to end birthright citizenship. The Democratic attorneys general along with the cities of San Francisco and Washington DC filed two separate lawsuits asking federal judges to rule that Trump’s order is a violation of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. That amendment bestows citizenship on anyone born in the United States and has been part of the Constitution for over 150 years.
