(Lansing, MI) – Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says in a statement that she is looking “forward to getting to work on the priorities we share,” with President Donald Trump. She issued a statement yesterday congratulating him on the win and saying she remains focused on fixing Michigan’s roads, fighting for advanced manufacturing industries, and working with Canadian partners.
Trump has vowed to enact a 25-percent tariff on all imports from Canada and Mexico. Whitmer and Trump often clashed during his first term, especially over his response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
