(Grand Rapids, MI) – An Arctic blast is expected to hit Western Michigan early next week. Temperatures will begin to drop on Saturday, with the real frigid weather coming Sunday morning, with lows in the single digits. The coldest days of the week will be Monday and Tuesday with single-digit highs. Winds will be quite stiff out of the west at ten to 20 miles per hour, dropping wind chills between negative-ten degrees and negative 25 degrees.
The number of warming shelters in West Michigan is expected to increase in anticipation of frigid temperatures this weekend.
