(West Olive, MI) – Former Ottawa County Sheriff Gary Rosema has been hired as the county’s new interim administrator. The county commission voted 7-to-4 yesterday to appoint Rosema to the post. He retired as sheriff in 2016 after serving 42 years with the department and says his family has a real interest in helping the county “put some things back together and also being part of the process looking for a new county administrator.”
Rosema says he is hopeful he will only serve for a maximum of six months and he is the third county administrator since John Gibbs was fired in February last year.
