Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Grand Haven BLP has selected winners for its first ever Holiday Lighting Contest. Judges of the contest were BLP Linemen: Conner, Brett, and Trent.
The address of the ‘Griswold Award’ winner is 18088 Wildwood Court, Spring Lake. This award went to the most over the top “possibly seen from space” lighting display. Attractions include a Christmas tree on the roof, an extra-large inflatable Santa Claus, too many lit candy canes to count, another Santa climbing up the streetlight post, a tunnel of lights over the driveway, and many other decorations.
The address of the ‘Classic Award’ winner is 15161 Lakeshore Drive, Grand Haven for the most gorgeously designed display that captures the holiday spirit and looks like it jumped directly off the front of a Hallmark card.
Winners received $150 in Chamber Dune Dollars to spend locally and a sign to proudly display in the front yard.
“This is the first time we’ve held this friendly competition. We had a great time with the contest and loved all the entries. Congratulations to the winners of each category. There was a lot of excitement with this program and the BLP would love to hear the community’s feedback,” said Mike Westbrook, BLP board chair.
Rob Shelley, general manager, shared “We want to thank everyone who decorated this year to add some extra holiday cheer as well as their willingness to share with our community by entering this contest. We had a lot of fun with it and hope our community enjoys driving around and looking at all these wonderful displays.”
For residents who would like to take in the festive atmosphere, the BLP is providing a map of contestant entries at www.ghblp.org.
