(Grand Rapids, MI) – A non-profit that sponsors a program called Treats for Troops has a great solution for the abundance of candy some kids will bring home on Halloween. Soldier’s Angels say it collects Halloween candy to send to soldiers and sailors and veterans as well. The treats from home are sent to deployed troops, active-duty installations, VA Medical Centers and the Guard and Reserve units.
Last year 100-thousand-pounds of candy was collected and the goal this year is 150-thousand-pounds. Check the Soldier’s Angels website for candy guidelines.
