(Grand Rapids, MI) — Another Republican is backing Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris for President. Susan Ford Bales, the daughter of late former President Gerald R. Ford, has endorsed Harris. The Harris-Walz campaign issued a statement from Bales, acknowledging policy differences with the Vice President, but saying “her integrity and commitment to these same principles that guided Dad have led me to conclude that Kamala Harris should be elected the 47th president of the United States.”
Bales also referenced the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump as they tried to prevent Congress from certifying the election of President Biden.
