Muskegon, Michigan – Best Financial Credit Union is proud to announce the recipients of its 2024 community giving initiative, where $15,000 was distributed to four deserving local nonprofits. The community plays a vital role in the selection process by voting for the organization they believe should receive funding; making this initiative a true collaboration between the Credit Union and the communities it serves.

Muskegon, Michigan – Best Financial Credit Union is proud to announce the recipients of its 2024 community giving initiative, where $15,000 was distributed to four deserving local nonprofits. The community plays a vital role in the selection process by voting for the organization they believe should receive funding; making this initiative a true collaboration between the Credit Union and the communities it serves.
Nominations were open to the public, and each participating nonprofit submitted a video explaining why they should be selected. After a competitive voting process, the following organizations were each awarded $3,750:
- Faithful to Felines – A nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and caring for stray and abandoned cats, ensuring they find loving forever homes.
- HBCU Club of Muskegon – Supporting students from Muskegon in their journey to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), helping to fund educational opportunities and experiences.
- Muskegon Rescue Mission – Providing shelter, food, and support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Muskegon, working to rebuild lives through compassion and community service.
- Lake Hawks in Flight – Promoting youth development through sports, this organization empowers young athletes to grow both on and off the court, building leadership and teamwork skills.
The annual $15,000 Community Giveback program is a key part of Best Financial Credit Unions commitment to giving back and making a positive impact in the communities it serves. By involving the public in the decision-making process, the Credit Union ensures that the funds go to organizations that resonate with the people who live and work in the area.
