West Michigan Companies Impacted By Boeing Strike

(Grand Rapids, MI) – The Boeing factory worker strike that is now entering its fifth week has reached west Michigan aerospace suppliers. Grand Valley State University Seidman College of Business associate dean Paul Isely says there are at least ten suppliers in west Michigan for Boeing and he estimates around 500 employees either have already been laid off or will be temporarily.

He says airline tickets will likely also get more expensive the longer the strike lasts, because if there are no planes being built, airlines will very likely limit how many routes are flown every day.
