Absentee Voting is Secure Says Ottawa County Clerk

(Ottawa County, MI) – Absentee ballots are now on the way to people who are on permanent absentee voter lists in Michigan. Ottawa County Clerk Justin Roebuck assures voters that voting absentee is safe and secure, and says 59-percent of voters in the county cast their vote that way in November 2020, and 68-percent used the option for the August 2020 primary.

He says voters can vote that way, vote early in person for nine days before the election in November, and in person on November 5. Roebuck says drop box locations for ballots are under 24/7 video surveillance.

“Our voters today have more option than ever to cast a ballot. I think it’s really important for our voters to know that the absentee ballot process is a secure process.”

Roebuck says absentee ballots are checked to be sure the person voting is the person who requested the ballot. Ottawa County election information here.
