(Coopersville, MI) – A historic steam locomotive that is 111-years-old has been restored and is on display in Coopersville. The Coopersville and Marne Railway dedicated the locomotive yesterday and it was restored by nearly 20 volunteers. Friends of the Coopersville and Marne Railway special projects manager Dennis Hart says it will be very lifelike and added “not like a real steam engine but close.”
It will be displayed along Eastmanville Street in downtown Coopersville and Hart says it should be open for the public in about a month.
